HOWARD HUGHES

Mr. Howard Robard Hughes is a young man who likes to fly to places rapidly. Its not because hes particularly anxious to be where hes going. What interests him is the speed he develops in getting there. To him speed has a double use. It is his hobby and his contribution to aeronautical science. He has been flying for fifteen of the 31 years since he was born atHouston Texas on December 24 1904. Inheritor of a large fortune as a young man he bought planes and became an expert pilot. Then he decided to Immortalize in film one of the worlds most thrilling air eras the World War. He went to Hollywood and produced Hells Angels Cock of the Air and Sky Devils which did much to make America air-minded. Turning from story to reality he built the powerful little racer pictured on our cover and with it hung up an international speed record. Howard Hughes has added new strength to our wings.
